Seachem Flourish Iron

Flourish Iron™ is a highly concentrated (10,000 mg/L) ferrous iron (Fe+2) gluconate supplement designed to meet the elevated iron needs of aquatic plants. Ideal for use when standard dosing of general plant conditioners falls short or when signs of iron deficiency emerge—such as short, slender stems or yellowing between leaf veins—this supplement provides iron in the ferrous form, which plants readily absorb and utilize.

Unlike EDTA-iron sources that contain iron in the ferric (Fe+3) state requiring additional energy for plants to convert, Flourish Iron™ delivers iron directly as ferrous iron, enhancing nutrient uptake efficiency. This product contains no phosphate or nitrate, making it a clean and effective solution for freshwater planted aquariums.

Directions for use: Add 1 capful (5 mL) per 200 L (50 gallons*) or adjust as needed to maintain an iron concentration of approximately 0.10 mg/L. For smaller doses, note that each cap thread equals about 1 mL. Regular monitoring with a MultiTest: Iron™ test kit is recommended to ensure optimal iron levels. Use as required to address iron deficiency symptoms, which typically appear in new growth as chlorosis (yellowing between veins) and stunted stem development.
